Breakthrough Prize Symposium, November 5, 2018

The Breakthrough Prizes aim to celebrate science and scientists, promote a culture that venerates knowledge, and generate excitement about STEM careers. They are the world’s largest science awards, presented annually at a televised ceremony in Silicon Valley.

The Breakthrough Prize celebration includes a daylong symposium in the three prize fields: physics, life sciences and mathematics. The symposium is co-sponsored by Stanford University, UC San Francisco, and UC Berkeley, where this year’s symposium takes place.
